ST PAUL, MN – The Chairman of the Minnesota DFL Party is calling on Minnesota State Senator Nicole Mitchell to ‘hold to her promise and resign immediately.’
“As to Mitchell’s position in the senate, I hope that she will hold to her promise and resign immediately,” Minnesota DFL Chairman Richard Carlbom said in a statement obtained by Flag Family News. “The governor will have more information on a special election shortly.”
The statement comes hours after a jury of her peers found the Senator guilty of two counts – burglary in the first degree and possession of burglary tools.
“With today’s guilty jury verdict on two felony counts, the courts have spoken and due process was given to Nicole Mitchell. I urge all to respect the verdict and the legal process,” Carlbom said.
As of late Friday night, Mitchell had not announced her resignation.
