Minnesota Trooper charged with producing child porn

ELK RIVER, Minn. – A Minnesota state trooper is facing federal charges for allegedly producing child pornography.

Jeremy Plonski of Shakopee, who’s been with the State Patrol for three years, faces a minimum of 15 years in prison if he’s convicted.

In a press release about the case, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Minnesota did not go into further specifics about Plonski’s alleged criminal activity.

“These allegations represent a betrayal of the community, victims, and of every member of law enforcement who wears their uniform with integrity and honor,” says Minnesota State Patrol Colonel Christina Bogojevic.  “We will fully support the federal investigation and prosecution, and will cooperate to the fullest extent possible. No badge, no title and no position will ever place anyone above the law.”

The State Patrol says Plonski is on leave.

He will remain in custody at the Sherburne County Jail pending a detention hearing.
