MINOT, ND — A man died after a traffic stop in Minot turned into an armed standoff Saturday night.
An officer pulled over a car on Highway 2, and when he approached, the driver pulled out a gun and threatened him. Police say the officer retreated and tried to talk to the man, but he didn’t respond, and shot himself about a half-hour later. The driver was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
