North Dakota Sheriffs and Deputies Association calls for more information regarding ‘lack of transparency and reasoning’ for listing seven counties as ‘sanctuary jurisdictions defying federal immigration law’

STATEWIDE – North Dakota’s Sheriffs and Deputies Association (NDSDA) are speaking out after a Department of Homeland Security list says multiple counties are ‘sanctuary jurisdictions defying federal immigration law.’

The list includes ‘cities, counties, and states that are deliberately obstructing the enforcement of federal immigration laws and endangering American citizens,’ which protect dangerous criminal illegal aliens from facing consequences.

Seven counties – Billings, Golden Valley, Grant, Morton, Ramsey, Sioux and Slope – join 20 Minnesota counties, including Otter Tail, and the Twin Cities on the list.

“These North Dakota counties strongly believe that this is misinformation and a mischaracterization of how they uphold the rule of law in North Dakota,” a press release from the NDSDA said. “They have worked well with their federal partners and routinely interact with the U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement as well as the U.S. Border Patrol on immigration and other criminal matters.”

The association is working to gather more information regarding ‘the lack of transparency and reasoning as to why the Department of Homeland Security did not fact check prior to incorrectly naming these North Dakota counties.’

Flag Family News has reached out to North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley for comment, but have not heard back as of the time of publishing this article.
