(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota’s taxable sales and purchases totaled seven-point-two-billion dollars in the third quarter of this year. That’s steady compared to the same period last year.
Tax Commissioner Brian Kroshus says this seems to indicate “a leveling off of the state’s economy.” Nine major industry sectors experienced increases in taxable transactions in July, August and September of this year compared to the same period last year. Kroshus also revealed that, in this year’s third quarter, economic activity in the state’s rural communities outpaced activity in larger, more urban areas.
