Patel issues update on FBI investigation into fraud in Minnesota

ST PAUL, MINN. – FBI Director Kash Patel is issuing an update into the fraud investigations ongoing in Minnesota.

He acknowledged his agency had ‘had surged personnel and investigative resources to Minnesota to dismantle large-scale fraud schemes exploiting federal program.’

While 78 indictments and 57 convictions have been already handed down in the fraud schemes, Patel said his agency believes ‘this is just the tip of a very large iceberg.’

“We will continue to follow the money and protect children, and this investigation very much remains ongoing,” he said.

Patel also released that many are being referred to immigration officials for potential further denaturalization and deportation proceedings.
