MINNESOTA – Red Lake Nation is set to open cannabis dispensaries in Thief River Falls and West St. Paul.
The Red Lake Band of Chippewa is the latest tribe to sign a deal with Governor Tim Walz allowing for cannabis sales outside reservation boundaries.
The Thief River Falls location is scheduled to open on New Year’s Eve and the West St. Paul store will open later next month.
Minnesota’s 11 tribal nations got an early foothold in the state’s recreational cannabis industry as it was slow to license nontribal businesses.
