South Dakota law enforcement report record methamphetamine seizure

STURGIS, SD – The South Dakota Highway Patrol recently made a record methamphetamine seizure near Sturgis.

The Patrol apprehended a 42-year-old man who was stopped while driving and found to be transporting methamphetamine. The Patrol says he was in possession of 207 pounds of crystal methamphetamine. The value of the drugs are $12 million.

Authorities say the driver is a non-citizen and is in immigration proceedings. He was initially stopped for speeding on I-90 in Sturgis.
