Tornadoes, hail move through the region

REGION – Multiple tornadoes were reported Monday as a line of severe storms moved across the region.

The National Weather Service says multiple reports and images of a tornado were received south of Calio in north central North Dakota at 3:43 p.m. Calio is located southwest of Langdon in Cavalier County. Less than an hour later, a tornado was reported northeast of Edmore, which is in neighboring Ramsey County. As the storm continued moving, a spotter reported a tornado down on the ground near Lawton at just after 5 p.m.

Later Monday night, a tornado was reported just east of Reynolds, which lies at the border of Grand Forks and Traill Counties. A tornado was also reported near Lockhart at around 9:30 p.m.

The storm also produced several hail reports.

A farmer near Adams told Flag Family News that large hail fell between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

“(At) around 7:45, more than two hours later, it was still sitting in the field, a bit larger than a golf ball,” Sydney Bata told Flag Family News.
