Walsh County man charged with corruption of minor

GRAFTON, ND – A Walsh County man made his first appearance last week in Northeast Judicial District Court in Grafton.

66-year-old David Lindell, of Edinburg, is facing a Class C Felony charge of corruption of a minor age 15-17. He allegedly sexually assaulted a 17-year-old female while riding on a all-terrain vehicle in rural Edinburg in May.

Court documents state that Lindell was in the passenger seat of the vehicle when he placed his hand on the driver’s thigh and then proceeded to move his hand up onto the female’s genitals over her clothing, touching the area inappropriately. The acts continued for approximately 27 miles.

When interviewed, Lindell initially denied riding in the vehicle before later remembering it happen. He also initially denied drinking alcohol, but then admitted to having consumed ‘several alcoholic beverages.’ He also denied, initially, touching the female but later retracted the statement – but denied anything more than grabbing the female’s leg.

Lindell’s bond was set at $25,000 cash only with conditions.

He’s due back in court June 10.
