Walz is leaving the National Governors Association, reports say

ST PAUL, MINN – Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is reportedly leaving the National Governors Association.

He and Kansas Governor Laura Kelly are said to be leaving the organization, which serves as the voice of the leaders in 55 states, territories and commonwealths.

Walz is said to be leaving the group due to frustrations with the association’s response to the Trump administration. He’s also stopping payments to the association while taking the next year ‘to reassess his membership.’

Walz served the organization as co-chair in 2023 and 2024.
