4+ hour rain delay doesn’t phase Twins in dominant victory over Mariners

After a rain delay before first pitch the Minnesota Twins dominated the Seattle Mariners 10-1 in their series finale on Thursday.

Simeon Woods-Richardson struck out six batters over five shutout innings en route to earning the win. Brock Stewart, Danny Coulombe, and Justin Topa each tossed shutout innings out of the bullpen while Cole Sands threw the ninth inning while giving up one run.

Trevor Larnach led the offense with a two-run homer and three total RBI. Brooks Lee added a solo home run. Matt Wallner and Carlos Correa chipped in two RBI apiece. Willi Castro and Byron Buxton each  also drove in a run.

The Twins are now to Detroit to battle the division-leading Tigers in a weekend series. First pitch for Friday’s series opener is scheduled for 6:10 p.m.
