UND Hockey Has Extended Brad Berry Through The 2025-26 Season

     On Wednesday, University of North Dakota Director of Athletics Bill Chaves announced the contract extension of men’s hockey head coach Brad Berry. The extension is through the end of the 2025-26 season.

     "Brad has been a tremendous leader for our program and student-athletes. In addition, he is a great teammate to everyone in our department, university and State. He is nationally respected and is looked upon by his peers and others when the discussion of growing the game of college hockey is discussed. I look forward to our continued partnership," said Chaves.

     Berry is in his seventh season as the Fighting Hawks head coach. So far UND is 159-74-25 (.664) under his watch, including seven winning seasons, three NCAA Tournament appearances (2016, 2017, 2021), and a national championship in 2016.

     He is a three-time National Collegiate Hockey Conference Herb Brooks Coach of the Year recipient (2015, 2020, 2021). The Bashaw, Alberta, native also won the Spencer Penrose ACHA National Coach of the Year in 2020.

     Berry has had success with sending players to the next level, with a school-record 24 former UND student-athletes currently playing in the NHL. He has also coached back-to-back Hobey Baker Award finalists, nin All-Americans, and 22 all-conference selections.
