Former UMass Defenseman Ty Farmer Is Transferring To UND

North Dakota hockey head coach Brad Berry announced the addition of former University of Massachusetts defenseman Ty Farmer on Wednesday. Farmer spent the past four seasons with the Minutemen and has one year of eligibility remaining.

Farmer is bringing championship pedigree with him to Grand Forks. In 2018 he helped lead the Fargo Force to a Clark Cup (USHL Champion). Additionally in 2021 he anchored the blue line for the Minutemen who won the program's first national championship.

In four years at UMass Farmer was on the ice in 135 out of 141 games. He scored 11 goals and added 33 assists for 44 total points. Farmer is one of the best in the nation in plus-minus rating over the past four seasons, currently sitting at a +46.

Farmer joins former Michigan State goaltender Drew Deridder as transfers to North Dakota for next season.
