NDSU Volleyball Has Added Denessen To The 2022 Signing Class

On Monday North Dakota State volleyball head coach Jennifer Lopez announced the addition of Eke Denessen to the 2022 signing class. Denessen is joining the Bison after spending the past two seasons at South Florida.

Head coach Lopez had high praise for Denessen saying, “Through the recruiting process that we had with Eke, it was pretty clear early on that we knew she was going to be a great addition to the team both on and off the court.” Lopez continued “She’s got the skillset that is going to be able to work well within our offense and she brings with her a great level of understanding of the game and experience, and we can’t wait to get her in the gym this fall.”

The Venlo, Netherlands native appeared in 24 matches last season, making 13 starts at setter for the Bulls. She was second on the team with 262 assists while notching 20 or more assists in four matches, including a season-high 38 on Oct. 22 at Memphis. Denessen was named to the 2020 AAC All-Academic Team. She also added 100 digs and served seven aces.

Prior to her time at South Florida, Denessen played in Venlo, Netherlands for College Den Hulster. Denessen also helped guide her Peelpush u18 team to a Dutch National Club Championship, along with winning a Junior Beach Volleyball National Championship in 2018.

Denessen is joining Ally Barth, Bailey Plourde, and Nora Raasch in the Bison’s 2022 signing class. Barth, Ploude, and Raasch all signed last November.
