North Dakota State University men’s basketball head coach David Ruchman has announced the addition of transfer guard Luke Yoder.

The Normal, Ill., native spent the past three seasons at Division III Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington, Ill and will have two years of eligibility remaining for the Bison.

Yoder was named the CCIW Freshman of the Year in 2020 and earned second team all-conference honors in 2022. Yoder is 6-foot and started all 30 games for Illinois Wesleyan this past season. He averaged 11.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.

Head coach Richman is ready to have Yoder on the roster saying, “Luke brings us experience at the guard position, and more importantly, winning experience.” Richman continued, “he’s a great shooter, has great feel for the game, and has proven himself to be team-first and a high-character teammate. We look forward to Luke fitting in with our Bison Family.”

This March Yoder helped lead Illinois Wesleyan to the NCAA Division III Elite Eight and will bring some much needed experience to a Bison squad that saw many departures this offseason.
