After completing a weekend sweep over Miami (Ohio), the National Collegiate Hockey Conference announced that goaltender Drew DeRidder and forward Riese Gaber have earned weekly league honors.

DeRidder was tabbed as the NCHC Goaltender of the Week, while Gaber earned NCHC Forward of the Week.

After a stellar weekend performance helping the Fighting Hawks to a weekend sweep of Miami, DeRidder earned his second NCHC Goaltender of the Week honor in the past six weeks. He saved 50 of the 51 shots he faced in the two game series. On the weekend he held a 0.50 goals against average (GAA) and a .980 save percentage. On Friday night DeRidder saved 27 shots in a 4-1 victory over the Redhawks, then on Saturday he collected a 23 save shutout in an 8-0 thumping of Miami. DeRidder now has four shutouts on the season, tying him with Adam Scheel for the most shutouts in a single-season since 2016-17.

Over his past seven starts, DeRidder has posted a 4-1-1 record. In those games he racked up a 1.63 GAA, .938 save percentage, and two shutouts.

Gaber led the North Dakota offensive attack in the weekend sweep of Miami. He tallied a pair of goals and three assists for five total points over the two game set. Gaber now has 10 goals and six assists for 16 total points in nine career games against Miami.

So far this season Gaber leads North Dakota and is tied for fourth in the NCHC with 16 goals. His 28 total points are good for second on the Fighting Hawks and seventh in the NCHC.

DeRidder, Gaber, and the Fighting Hawks will return to the ice for a weekend series at NCHC rival Denver from Feb. 10-11.
