On Tuesday, North Dakota State junior forward Grant Nelson was announced to the All-District 12 First Team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
Nelson is now one of five Bison to earn first-team NABC All-District honors in the Division 1 era, joining Ben Woodside (2009), Taylor Braun (2014), Lawrence Alexander (2015), and Vinnie Shahid (2020).
The Devils Lake, N.D., native led the Bison in points (19.9), rebounds (9.8), assists (2.4), blocks (1.7), and steals (1.1) per game on the season. Nelson also led the entire Summit League in rebounding along with ranking second in blocks. He tallied 10 double-doubles against conference foes. On top of that Nelson became only the 21st player in program history to score 500+ points in a single season.
Additionally, Nelson was an All-Summit League first team honoree.
