Twins Start Season with Back to Back Shutouts

KANSAS CITY (WDAY) - The Twins helped Kansas City set a new franchise record for the longest scoring drought to open the season at 18, Saturday.

The Twins, now 2-0 blanked the Royals for the second straight game 2-0. Kansas City is now the only team in Major League Baseball that has yet to score in 2023. The Royals went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position on Saturday and are 0-for-14 this season.

Buxton scored both of the Twins runs on Saturday, while Sonny Gray threw for 5 innings with one strikeout.
