Wolves throttled by Nuggets + NBA playoffs recap

The NBA postseason race is heating up.

The West's top-seeded Denver Nuggets capped off Sunday with a dominant 109-80 Game One victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at Ball Arena.  Anthony Edwards paced Minnesota with 18 points and five assists. Jamal Murray filled the stat sheet with 24 points, eight boards and eight assists. Game two will be in Denver on Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers used a big day from their role players to storm by the Grizzlies 128-112 in Memphis and take a 1-0 series lead. Rui Hachimura came off the bench to lead LA with 29 points while Austin Reaves chipped in 23 points.

In Milwaukee, the Miami Heat pulled off a 130-117 upset of the Bucks after superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo left the game in the second quarter with an injury. Jimmy Butler scored 35 points as the Heat took Game One.

Kawhi Leonard erupted for 38 points to lead the LA Clippers to a 115-110 Game One victory over the Suns in Phoenix. Kevin Durant fell just short of a triple-double in his Suns' playoff debut with 27 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists.
