The Professional Bowlers Association Tour is making a stop in Moorhead for the first time in 50 years. The Tour will be at Sunset Lanes in Moorhead beginning on June 13.

They are looking to increase the number of eyes on the sport and recruit some new fans. JMarEntertainment is organizing the event and wants to change the way professional bowling is viewed. They want to treat it similar to a street fair like how the Professional Golf Association (PGA) has games, beer gardens, and music.

JMarEntertainment owner Jay Fettig gave his thoughts on their goal of the event saying, “One of the things we’re trying to do is introduce people to an event, sport that they may not have otherwise thought of. When a lot of people think of bowling, they think of stale beer, smoking environments, rental shoes. That’s what conjures up an image and that’s not it.”

Players from Canada, Massachusett, and Colorado will be competing against the touring pros.

There will also be a  Pro-AM tournament supporting the next Honor Flight that bowlers will have an opportunity to play in.
