FARGO, N.D. – Junior right-handed pitcher Carson Jacobs has signed as a free agent with the Chicago White Sox following the conclusion of the 2023 MLB Draft on Tuesday.

Jacobs appeared in 17 games with two starts on the mound in his first season with the Bison in 2023. The Hays, Kan., native recorded 41 strikeouts over 34.0 innings. He logged a season-high five strikeouts over 3.2 innings against South Dakota State in the Summit League Tournament to close the season. Prior to NDSU, Jacobs totaled 59 strikeouts over 55.2 innings in the 2022 season at Gateway Community College in Phoenix, Ariz.

Jacobs joins Cade Feeney after he became the 13th player in NDSU history to be selected in the MLB Draft on Tuesday. The Boston Red Sox picked Feeney with the 388th pick in the 13th round.
