Vikings Going Back to Their Past With Throwback Jerseys

The Vikings are turning back the clock in 2023.  The team revealed its "Vikings Classic" uniforms that will be worn during Minnesota's Week One contest against the Buccaneers.  The new threads are modeled after the jerseys that the Vikings wore during the 1960's and 1970's.  The jersey is a darker shade of purple than their default uniforms, and it employs gold trim around traditional numbers.  The Vikings are continuing a trend in the NFL to wear retro uniforms as well as color-rush alternate uniforms. Recently the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks released their own throwback uniforms. Meanwhile, the team is getting ready for training camp, which begins when rookies report this Sunday.
