(Eagan, MN) -- The Vikings are making T.J. Hockenson the highest-paid tight end in NFL history.

Hockenson has agreed to a four-year contract extension with Minnesota that will pay him up to 68.5-million-dollars.  The deal includes $42.5 million guaranteed and holds an average annual value of $17.125 million, both of which are the highest for a tight end in league history. Minnesota acquired Hockenson in a trade with the Detroit Lions last November. In 10 games with the Vikings, he recorded 60 receptions for 519 yards and three touchdowns.

In other Purple news, Minnesota added four players to its practice squad yesterday.
