(St. Paul, MN) -- The Wild's top player is taking on an even bigger role with the team.
The Wild named Kirill Kaprizov as an alternate captain yesterday. Kaprizov takes over for Matt Dumba, who joined the Coyotes during the offseason. He joins Marcus Foligno as Minnesota's other alternate behind captain Jared Spurgeon.
Kaprizov and the Wild open up the 2023-24 season with a home game against the Panthers Thursday evening at 7 p.m.
