(Eagan, MN) -- Kirk Cousins is entering the long recovery process after having surgery on his torn Achilles tendon yesterday.

Cousins posted on social media that his procedure was successful and he is taking his rehab one day at a time moving forward. The 35-year-old suffered the injury during Minnesota's win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. He was placed on injured reserve yesterday and will miss the rest of the 2023 season.

Rookie Jaren Hall is expected to start this Sunday when the Vikings visit Atlanta, and the team also traded for Cardinals starting quarterback Joshua Dobbs.
