(Eagan, MN) -- The Vikings are losing an offensive player to an Achilles tear for the second week in a row.

The team announced yesterday that Cam Akers suffered a torn Achilles during Minnesota's win over the Falcons over the weekend. Akers will miss the rest of the season, and the injury comes a week after starting quarterback Kirk Cousins went down with a torn Achilles. Akers played in six games for Minnesota after being traded from the Rams and rushed for just 138 yards and a touchdown.

Minnesota hosts New Orleans on Sunday.

In other team news, Adam Schefter is reporting that the team doesn't expect to have wide receiver Justin Jefferson back for Week 10, but he could return soon after that.
