(Minneapolis, MN) -- Sonny Gray fell just short of his first career Cy Young Award.

The Twins ace finished in second place in the voting. He picked up 20 second place votes, six third place votes, and three fourth place votes. He was beat out by Yankees starter Gerrit Cole, who was the unanimous winner in the American League.

Gray went 8-8 with a 2.79 ERA in 32 starts with Minnesota in 2023, and he is now a free agent.
