UND’s Bennett Zmolek has earned NCHC Defenseman of the Week honors.
He blocked 10 shots in North Dakota’s weekend sweep over Miami (OH), including blocking a season-high seven shots on Saturday night.Zmolek totaled a +5 rating and spear-headed a penalty kill that went 5-6 on the weekend. In 10 games this season, Zmolek has blocked 27 shots.
The top ranked Fighting Hawks (9-2-1, 4-0-0) will host Bemidji State on Friday night.
