Minnesota Wild fire head coach Dean Evason, assistant coach

(St. Paul, Minn.) – The Minnesota Wild have fired their head coach and an assistant coach.

The organization made the announcement late Monday afternoon that they had fired head coach Dean Evason and assistant coach Bob Woods. Evason was in his second season with the team as their head coach, while Woods was in his fifth season as an assistant coach with the organization.

“Dean did an excellent job during his tenure with the Minnesota Wild, especially as Head Coach of our team,” said Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Bill Guerin. “I am very thankful for his hard work and dedication to our organization."

The Wild are currently 5-10-4 on the season, and will host the St. Louis Blues Tuesday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
