(Fort Myers, FL) -- The Minnesota Twins will have their All-Star center fielder back in the outfield sooner than anticipated.

Manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters over the weekend that he plans to pencil Byron Buxton's name in center field during the first week of Spring Training. Buxton spent all of the 2023 campaign as the team's designated hitter as he recovered from a knee injury. He had surgery in October and says that he is fully healthy heading into the 2024 season.

The Twins will have their first Spring Training game on Saturday against the Pirates.
