On Wednesday, December 3 the National Collegiate Hockey Conference league office announced a pair of University of North Dakota Men’s Hockey forwards have earned monthly league awards.
Ben Strinden has been named the NCHC’s Forward of the Month. Strinden tied for the league-lead with 12 points in November on seven goals and five assists. He also posted a plus-six in the plus/minus rating.
Will Zellers has been named the NCHC’s Rookie of the Month. In seven games during November, Zellers recorded eight points on seven goals and one assist. He scored in five of those games with UND going a perfect 5-0 when Zellers found the back of the net.
Strinden, Zellers, and the rest of the Fighting Hawks will visit St. Cloud State for a weekend series beginning on Friday, December 5 with puck drop scheduled for 7:07 p.m.
