A second inning offensive explosion powers Twins past A’s

A six run second inning powered the Minnesota Twins to a 10-4 win over the A’s on Monday night.

Joe Ryan gave up four runs over five innings, earning the win. Brock Stewart, Louie Varland, Justin Topa, and Kody Funderburk each tossed a shutout inning in relief.

Byron Buxton powered the offense with five RBI. Brooks Lee and Ty France drove in two runs apiece while Trevor Larnach also picked up an RBI.

The Twins and A’s will continue their series on Tuesday night with first pitch scheduled for 9:05 p.m. Pablo Lopez is scheduled to be on the mound for Minnesota with Jacob Lopez countering for the A’s.
