EAGAN, Minn. (Valley News Live) – Just one day after being placed on waivers by the Minnesota Vikings, the Pittsburgh Steelers sign Detroit Lakes native Adam Thielen.

He will now catch passes from his former Packers rival, quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

On Monday, the Vikings and the 10-year veteran receiver announced the 35-year-old will leave the team’s locker room.

In what Thielen has expressed will be his last season in the National Football League, and given the recent struggles the Vikings offense has had, he wanted an opportunity to pursue a larger role for another team.

“Adam Thielen is a special person and a special player that has been a lot to not only this organization, but the career he’s had. I wish him nothing but the best,” Vikings Head Coach Kevin O’Connell said in a press conference on Monday.
