MINNEAPOLIS – Vikings legend Adrian Peterson is out on $4,000 bail on driving while intoxicated charges.
The former running back was arrested in Richfield, Minnesota around 3:30 Friday morning. He was at U.S. Bank Stadium for the Vikings Draft Party and did an interview with KFAN Radio.
Peterson has been charged with fourth degree DWI. The State Patrol says he was pulled over for going 83 miles an hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. Troopers say Peterson had a blood alcohol content nearly twice the legal limit of 0.08.
His next court appearance is set for May ninth.
This isn’t his first run in with the law. Peterson avoided jail time after making a plea agreement on reckless injury to a child charges in Texas in 2014. He allegedly used a switch to injure his four year old son.
In 2022 Peterson was arrested in Los Angeles for a domestic violence charge against his wife, Ashley, on a flight. She said he never hit her, but they had a verbal argument and the charge was dropped.
