DETROIT, Mich. – Former Golden Gophers star Dawson Garcia has his childhood dream of signing an NBA contract coming true, inking a deal with the Detroit Pistons.
The Savage, Minnesota native ranks 10th in Gophers history with 1,557 career points. Garcia was fourth in the Big Ten in scoring with more 19.2 points per game in his senior season in 2024-2025.
The 6’11” forward is scheduled to play for Detroit in the NBA Summer League next month. Also taking part in Summer League are former Bison Grant Nelson who signed with the Nets and Jacksen Moni who signed with the Spurs.
