The NFL preseason got underway with a one-sided matchup in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game.
The Los Angeles Chargers crushed the Detroit Lions 34-7 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton. Chargers quarterback Trey Lance completed 13-of-20 pass attempts for 120 yards and two touchdowns to Will Dissly and KeAndre Lambert-Smith. Tony Jefferson, Myles Purchase and Nikko Reed each had an interception as the Chargers began the preseason 1-0.
Detroit’s Craig Reynolds found the end zone on a three-yard rush in the second quarter. Kyle Allen and Hendon Hooker combined to complete 12-of-20 pass attempts for 104 yards and three picks. The Lions are 0-1 to start the preseason.
