The Minnesota Twins fell short to the New York Yankees 10-9 on Tuesday night.
Zebby Matthews struggled, giving up nine runs over three innings and was tagged with the loss. Cody Laweryson gave up one run over two innings out of the bullpen. Thomas Hatch tossed two scoreless innings. Genesis Cabrera threw 1 ⅔ shutout innings while Michael Tonkin recorded an out.
James Outman and Ryan Fitzgerald each hit two-run homers. Trevor Larnach hit a solo home run and picked up two RBI. Royce Lewis and Mickey Gasper added an RBI apiece.
The Twins and Yankees will conclude their series on Wednesday night with first pitch slated for 6:40 p.m. Taj Bradley is scheduled to be on the mound for Minnesota.
