McCarthy returns to practice; Cashman practice window opened

(Minneapolis, MN)  —  Vikings Quarterback J.J. McCarthy returns to practice.  J.J. McCarthy practiced for the first time after spraining his ankle a month ago. Despite McCarthy’s return to the practice field, coach Kevin O’Connell has not named a starting quarterback for the next game. Backup quarterback, Carson Wentz, also practiced on Monday after hurting his shoulder during the October 5th game in London. Wentz has started all three games since McCarthy became injured.

The team opened up the 21-day practice window for linebacker Blake Cashman on Monday. Cashman has been on injured reserve since injuring his hamstring against the Bears in Week One. The 29-year-old had 112 tackles and four-and-a-half sacks for the Purple last season.

Minnesota hosts the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at noon.
