The Redhawks edged the Railroaders 4-3 in 11 innings.
Kyle Crigger gave up only one run over seven innings in a no-decision. Parker Harm recorded two outs while giving up one run. Tyler Jeans tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Jon Beymer gave up one run over two innings, earning the win.
Jairus Richards, Juan Fernandez, Jesus Lujano, and Jake Hjelle each drove in a run.
The RedHawks improved to 20-11 on Opening Day all-time. They have now won five consecutive Opening Day games.
The Redhawks and Railroaders will continue their season opening series with game two on Friday night with the first pitch scheduled for 7:06 p.m.
