The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks dropped a pitchers duel matchup to the Kansas City Monarchs 1-0 in their series opener on Tuesday night.
Patrick Wicklander struck out seven batters over five innings while only giving up one run, but was tagged with the loss in the end. Liu Fuenmayor tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Angelo Cabral threw 1 2/3 shutout innings.
The RedHawks only recorded three hits while drawing one walk. Fargo-Moorhead fell to a record of 7-10 on the season.
The RedHawks and Monarchs will continue their series on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is slated for 1:05 p.m.
