RedHawks split doubleheader with Dogs

After a rainout on Tuesday night, the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks and Chicago Dogs squared off in a traditional seven-inning doubleheader on Wednesday night.

 

Game One

The RedHawks dropped the opening matchup 4-0. The game was scoreless into the fourth inning until Henry Kusiak hit an RBI triple, giving the Dogs a 1-0 lead. Chicago added three more insurance runs in the seventh inning on RBI base hits by Jacob Teter, Chance Sisco, and Dusty Stroup. Kyle Krigger was tagged with the loss for Fargo-Moorhead after giving up one run over 5 1/3 innings. The RedHawks struck out 14 times in the loss.

 

Game Two

F-M took the nightcap 4-1 to split the doubleheader. Robert Perez Jr. drove in the games first run in the bottom of the first inning. Chicago’s Henry Kusiak tied up the ballgame at 1-1 in the second inning on an RBI single. Dillon Thomas gave the RedHawks the lead for good in the fifth inning on an RBI double. In the sixth inning Michael Hallquist scored a run on a wild pitch while Juan Fernandez added an insurance run on an RBI single.

Tyler Jandron gave up one run over four innings in a no-decision. Jake Dykhodd tossed a shutout inning, earning the win. Parker Harm tossed a scoreless inning in relief followed by Alex DuBord picking up the save after a shutout seventh inning.

 

The RedHawks and Dogs will return to the diamond on Thursday evening beginning at 7:02 p.m. for their series rubber match.
