Christmas Day 2025 may be a busier day than most Minnesota sports fans originally bargained for. We already know that the Minnesota Vikings are set to host a division rival in the Detroit Lions on Christmas Day with kickoff slated for 3:30 p.m. and it looks as though they won’t be the only professional sports franchise from the Twin Cities playing on that day.
Per ESPN’s Shams Charania the Minnesota Timberwolves will be playing on Christmas Day as part of a five game holiday slate. They are scheduled to be in Denver to take on the Nuggets. The five games schedule tip-off times are to be announced at a later date.

- Minnesota Timberwolves at Denver Nuggets
- Cleveland Cavaliers at New York Knicks
- San Antonio Spurs at Oklahoma City Thunder
- Houston Rockets at Los Angeles Lakers
- Dallas Mavericks at Golden State Warriors
This will be the Wolves four Christmas Day appearance all-time. They are currently 2-1 in their previous three appearances:
- 2016: 112-100 loss against Oklahoma City
- 2017: 121-104 win against Los Angeles Lakers
- 2024: 105-99 win against Dallas Mavericks
- 12/25/25 at Denver Nuggets
