Sources: Timberwolves to play on Christmas Day

The Minnesota Timberwolves are coming off of a season in which the franchise appeared in the Western Conference Finals for only the second time in team history. Now they are expected to play on one of the NBA’s signature regular season days.

According to The Athletics Shams Charania, the Minnesota Timberwolves will be apart of the NBA’s 2024 Christmas Day slate of games.

The Wolves will be heading to Dallas to battle the Mavericks in a rematch of the Western Conference Finals. The other games will include the San Antonio Spurs at New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors, and Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns.

The Wolves have played on Christmas Day twice prior in 2016 and 2017. In 2016 they lost to the Thunder 112-100 in Oklahoma City. Then in 2017, during Jimmy Butler’s only full season in Minnesota, the Pack traveled to Los Angeles defeating the Lakers 121-104.
