Thunder defeat Pacers in Game 7 to win NBA Finals

(Oklahoma City, OK) — The Oklahoma City Thunder are NBA champions for the first time. The Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers 103-91 in Game Seven of the NBA Finals in Oklahoma City.

League MVP and Finals MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with a game-high 29 points and 12 assists. Chet Holmgren came up big on both ends of the floor with 18 points and five blocks to help the franchise to its first championship. Jalen Williams added 20 points.

Bennedict Mathurin came off the bench to lead Indiana with 24 points and 13 rebounds in the losing effort. T.J. McConnell chipped in 16 points. Star guard Tyrese Haliburton suffered a serious lower leg injury in the first quarter and did not return. The Pacers still have never won an NBA championship.

The 2025 NBA Draft will begin on Wednesday, June 25.
