The Minnesota Twins made their first trade deadline move on Monday.
They traded away starting pitchers Chris Paddack and Randy Dobnak to the Detroit Tigers. In return the Twins received Detroit’s No. 14 prospect Enrique Jimenez, a switch hitting Catcher/First Baseman.
Paddack will pitch on Wednesday for the Tigers against the Arizona Diamondbacks while Dobnak was sent to Triple-A. Paddack has a 4-95 ERA through 21 starts over 111 innings so far this season.
Enrique Jimenez has currently placed in 48 games this season in rookie ball at the Florida Complex League. The 19-year-old is hitting .250 with six home runs and 32 RBI over 192 plate appearances that includes a .339 on-base percentage.
