The Minnesota Twins blew a ninth inning lead, ultimately falling to the Cincinnati Reds in extra innings. Minnesota led 3-1 entering the ninth inning before a series of mishaps eventually led to the Twins falling 7-4 in 10 innings. The Red swept the Twins in the weekend series.
Bailey Ober tossed 6 ⅓ innings giving up one unearned run with 10 strikeouts in a no-decision. Taylor Rogers recorded a pair of outs. Andrew Morris gave up four runs over 1 ⅓ innings in relief, blowing the save opportunity. Garrett Acton surrendered three unearned runs over an inning of work, eventually being tagged with the loss.
Victor Caratini paced the Twins with two RBI. Austin Martin and Josh Bell each picked up an RBI.
Minnesota fell to a record of 11-11 on the season. The Twins have an off day on Monday before heading to New York on Tuesday. First pitch against the Mets on Tuesday is scheduled for 6:10 p.m. with game coverage available on Twins.TV. Mick Abel will get the mound for Minnesota while Nolan McLean counters for New York.
