The Minnesota Twins gave up three runs in the eighth inning of an 8-7 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night.
Simeon Woods-Richardson gave up five runs over 3 ⅔ innings, ending up with a no-decision. Thomas Hatch surrendered a run over 1 ⅓ inning of work. Kody Funderburk and Cole Sands tossed a scoreless inning apiece. Genesis Cabrera gave up two runs while only recording one out. Michael Tonkin was tagged with the loss after giving up one run over ⅔ of an inning.
Byron Buxton hit two solo home runs with Luke Keaschall and Brooks Lee also hitting solo homers. Ryan Jeffers, Royce Lewis, and Edouard Julien each tallied an RBI.

The Twins now have an off day on Thursday as they return home to begin a seven game homestand. The Twins will welcome the San Diego Padres to Target Field for a weekend series beginning on Friday night at 7:10 p.m. Zebby Matthews is scheduled to be on the bump for Minnesota with Nestor Cortes countering for San Diego.
