The Minnesota Twins dropped their series finale to the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1 in their final game before the All-Star break.
Simeon Woods-Richardson gave up one run over 4 ⅔ innings in a no-decision. Louie Varland tossed 1 ⅓ scoreless innings while both Brock Stewart and Griffin Jax threw shutout innings. Jhoan Duran gave up one run over an inning and was tagged with the loss.
Byron Buxton drove in Minnesota’s only run on an RBI double in the third inning.
The Twins enter the break with a record of 47-49, sitting in second place in the AL Central. (11.5 games behind division-leading Detroit)
