Twins in free fall after loss to Mariners; Have now lost 11 of last 12 games

The Minnesota Twins were edged 6-5 by the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night. Minnesota has now lost five straight games and 11 of their last 12 games.

The loss puts the Twins at a record of 37-42 on the season and drops them solely into fourth place in the AL Central behind Detroit, Cleveland, and Kansas City.

Chris Paddack gave up four runs over five innings in a no-decision. Louie Varland, Griffin Jax, and Brock Stewart each tossed a scoreless inning in relief. Jhoan Duran gave up one run in the ninth inning and was tagged with the loss.

Ryan Jeffers paced Minnesota’s offense with two RBI. Kody Clemens hit a solo home run while Brooks Lee also added an RBI.

The Twins and Mariners will continue their series on Wednesday night with first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m. Minnesota will send Joe Ryan to the bump while Seattle counters with George Kirby.
